Day 1 Vancouver /
Kamloops / Clearwater
This morning your guide meets you at the
Vancouver. Journey route: Fraser River
valley, Coast Mountain range, Hope,
Kamloops
and overnight Clearwater
Day 2 Jasper
Explore Wells Gray Provincial Park, see Helmcken
and Dawson Falls, frequent stops for wildlife
viewing. Panoramic vistas include Mt Robson.
Overnight Tonquin Lodge or similar.
Day 3 Ice Fields
Parkway/Lake Louise/Banff
Travel famous Ice Fields Parkway, view Athabasca
and Dome Glaciers plus scenic Peyto and Bow
Lakes. Overnight Banff High Country Inn, or
similar.
Day 4 Lake Louise / Banff
Explore Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. Walk to
famous Lake Agnes Tea House. Balance of day free
for optional tours.. Overnight High Country Inn,
or similar.
Day 5 – 6 Banff
Enjoy two free days to explore Banff on your own
or with new friends. Lots to do and see.
Suggestions include; museums, art galleries and great downtown shops. Ride the Sulphur Mountain
Gondola and hike scenic mountain ridges. Swim in
hot springs! Banff is packed with good
restaurants, bars and nightlife. Overnight in
Banff.
Day 7 Banff / Fernie
Head south through changing of ‘Rockies to
Kootenays’ route. Overnight Fernie - designated
the coolest town in North America by Rolling
Stone Magazine.
Day 8 Fernie / Cranbrook /
Nelson
Travel through spectacular country of southern
BC. You will love Nelson with its heritage
buildings, charming centre and friendly people.
This classic town, is quite unique in western
Canada.
Day 9 Nelson / Hedley
This is gold, silver and wine country! Our route
takes us through fascinating small towns of the
southernmost wine producing regions. Hedley,
once a gold mining boom town of the 1900’s is a
true jewel (population 350) and a memorable
overnight stop.
Day 10 Hedley / Vancouver
Enthusiasts of Canadian railroads can follow the
history of The ‘Great Northern’ which helped
make Hedley a mining icon in 1909. We spend the
day exploring the area and discovering old mine
sites. Return drive to Vancouver over Coast
Mountain Ranges, arriving late afternoon. End.
Optional activities
available on this trip: White water rafting,
canoeing, boat tour, horse riding, gondola
rides.
