Buffalo Mountain Lodge

Introduction:

Buffalo Mountain Lodge is an elegant lodge is spectacular with post and beam construction, square timbers and high open ceilings. Facilities include a comfortable lounge with stone fireplace, dining room, conference rooms, indoor recreation area, steam room plus outdoor hot tub. Rooms are beautifully appointed with all amenities. Dining at Buffalo Mountain Lodge features classic Rocky Mountain Cuisine. The kitchen has a historic connection to the earlier days of Canadian Pacific when Swiss and Austrian mountain guides set the stage for today’s dining experience.

 

Location:

Buffalo Mountain Lodge is located in the heart of Banff – just off the Trans Canada Highway. Banff is reached via the Trans Canada Highway and conveniently close to the air gateway of Calgary. Both Lake Louise (56km) and Emerald Lake (94km) are nearby.

 

Amenities:

Facilities include; comfortable and congenial lounge with stone fireplace, dining room, conference rooms, indoor recreation area, steam room plus outdoor hot tub. Some of Alberta’s best shopping is found minutes away in central Banff.

 

Accommodation:

Rooms: All are beautifully appointed with all amenities. Deluxe rooms have king, queen or two double beds and wood burning fireplace. Complimentary firewood stocked daily in all room categories.

 

One bedroom suite: two double beds or one king separate from the living room. Wood burning fireplace stocked daily. Small kitchenette includes microwave, stovetop and fridge.

Premier Room offers choice of one queen, one king or two queen beds. Pine ceilings and wood burning fireplace stacked daily. The elegant, oversize bathroom boasts old fashioned bear-claw tub plus full stand up shower and heated floors.

 

Activities:

Within close vicinity a host of activities are available and the concierge will make all arrangements or provide maps and directions. The surrounding mountains and wilderness offer something for every level of hiking, mountaineering or mountain biking experience and fitness. Choices include: Hiking in the mountains and easy local trails. Boating: White Water Rafting is available on the Bow, Kananaskis or Kicking Horse Rivers. Canoeing: paddle on Lake Minnewanka or Vermilion Lakes. Horseback Riding: trail riding is available in Banff, Kananaskis, Lake Louise and Emerald Lake. Guided Fishing: Bow River is known for cutthroat and bull trout plus brown and brook trout. Guided fly fishing may be arranged. Golfing: Silver Tip resort is just 20 minutes east of Banff National Park. Mountain biking and sightseeing are available locally.

 

Cuisine:

Features classic Rocky Mountain Cuisine; with a historic connection to earlier days of Canadian Pacific when Swiss and Austrian mountain guides set the stage for today’s dining experience. Healthy menus include wild game, fresh indigenous berries, wild fruits and vegetables.  The wine list is one of the most extensive of any in Banff and includes a selection of over 500 of the world’s finest wines plus impressive Canadian VQA selections. After a day of exploring this dining room is a must.

 

Additional Information:

Recommended for romantic getaways, weddings and honeymoons. Buffalo Mountain’s key is the location and tranquility of the Rockies backdrop. Recommend combining with sister property Emerald Lake Lodge, a short drive apart guests can enjoy similar luxury in different surroundings.
