Eagle Nook Wilderness Resort & Spa

Introduction:

Positioned on Vancouver Island’s fabulous Barkley Sound, Eagle Nook Resort combines the extraordinary beauty of Canada’s West Coast with quick and easy access. Vancouver Island’s west coast wilderness setting is one of BC’s greatest natural attractions and Eagle Nook Resort is a comfortable sanctuary amidst this world famous region. The lodge combines a blend of comfortable accommodation, professional staff, friendly ambiance, excellent service and fine food.

Barkley Sound is a remarkable maritime region of islands, remote beaches and rain forests. The Broken Island group form part of BC’s Pacific Rim National Park. Wildlife is often spotted, bald eagles, deer and heron are regular neighbours! At the right time you may spot black bear, gray whales or orcas. The clear waters of Barkley Sound are popular with recreational divers, here the natural collage of sea anemones and starfish carpet the ocean floor.

Location & Getting There:

Sea plane flights operate from Seattle – right to the lodge! Or alternatively ‘self-drive’ guests drive to Ucluelet park and take daily water taxi. From Vancouver, direct flights are available to Tofino where a shuttle transfer to Ucluelet and water taxi connections operate to Eagle Nook.

Late June and July is the sockeye salmon run in Barkley Sound while July, August, September are the best months for the returning king salmon –often weighing 20 to 50 pounds. In September, the northern silvers arrive. Halibut fishing is abundant throughout the season, during June & July fish can reach 100 pounds or more!
