Northern Rockies Lodge
The new ‘air safari’ flights have opened up
Northern British Columbia like never before. The
beautiful log built lodge is spectacular, one of
the finest examples in Northern BC. Set against
the picturesque background of Muncho Lake the
lodge offers guests a true sense of Northern
hospitality. With a good choice of outdoor
activities, there is a whole new world to
explore in the north. Comfortable rooms in a
wilderness setting make this a choice for
adventures.
With regular direct charter flights from
Vancouver, the Northern Rockies destination is
more accessible than ever. The lodge is reached
mostly by car traveling the Alaska Highway from
Whitehorse or southern points. Now the new Air
Safari flights allow guests from Vancouver to
experience seeing the entire length of British
Columbia from top to bottom. High wing Twin
Otter aircraft are good for flightseeing.
Lodge stay:
guests have choice of lakeside chalets or lodge
rooms. Lodge rooms are all en suite, large and
comfortable. Combining beautiful lake views and
the privacy of a cabin is very
popular. The
comforts of the lodge blend well with the rugged
beauty of Northern BC.
Outpost cabins: are located in various
locations amidst the stunning scenery of the
Northern Rockies. Reached by float plane, they
offer privacy and exclusive occupancy. The
cabins are very basic with bunk beds and
sleeping bags provided. Guests cook their own
meals and food is included. A true wilderness
experience means guests have outhouse
facilities. Boats and canoes are ready to use
while good fishing is found in the
lakes. “Outpost cabins” are perfect for families
to enjoy and experience nature with the kids.
Can be combined with lodge accommodation
Easy
access to a wide range of outdoor activities
include: hiking trails; lake fishing, canoeing
and boat trips. Famous Liard Hot Springs (best
natural hot springs in BC) are reached by car in
45 minutes on the Alaska Highway and are a great
day trip. Activities are coordinated by the
front desk.
Fly-out fishing; fish the waters of unspoiled
Northern Rockies! Daily fly-out trips from the
lodge take guests to experience fishing on
remote mountain lakes and streams - a region
where few anglers have visited and
best fishing
experienced. Return each evening to your
lakeside chalet accommodation and enjoy the
dining experience at the main lodge.
Meals are served in main dining room with beautiful lake
views and a menu featuring Swiss and European
dishes. Dining room has a reputation for best
food on the Alaska Highway. The popular bar in
combination with dining room is the place to
meet fellow guests after a day’s activities.
Recommended
combinations include Vancouver Island visit or
as a stop over for Yukon bound travelers. Add to
any Alaska Highway drive. Remote wilderness
cabin experience is great for families and
opportunities for kids to experience nature.
