Introduction:
Poets Cove Resort & Spa opened in 2004 and has
quickly become one of Pacific Northwest’s
premier island properties. Built close to the
water, Poets Cove is a luxurious resort in a
stunning natural setting which portrays the
maritime beauty of west Canada’s coastline like
few others. Creatively designed, the resort is
first class from top to bottom; boasting
comfortable rooms, elegant dining, interesting
activities, spa and heated outdoor pools. Poets
Cove is impressive and alone is a very good
reason to visit Canada’s Gulf Islands. The
resort overlooks beautiful Bedwell Harbour in
British Columbia’s Gulf Islands.
Location
& Getting There:
Situated on South Pender Island in the Gulf
Island group. Daily ferry service from
Swartz Bay (Vancouver Island) or Tsawwassen
(Vancouver). Daily sea plane service operates
from Victoria and downtown Vancouver plus
Seattle. We recommend combining Poets Cove with
a rental car from either Vancouver or Victoria –
although not essential. Bedwell Harbour, a deep
moorage marina is rated in the western
hemisphere’s top ten best - making Poets Cove
popular with sail boaters and luxury cruisers.
Canada Customs are on site to facilitate
arrivals from US.
 Amenities:
The Spa at Poets Cove is a highlight attraction
with six treatment rooms (with fireplaces) and
either ocean or forest views. Rejuvenation and
care for the well being of the person is the
philosophy on which the Susurrus Spa is founded
- and the resort has commissioned experts to
create their own signature scent from Pender
Island grown lavender, local flowers and herbs.
Additionally guests may enjoy heated year-round
outdoor pool, hot tub with ocean-view deck,
shops and liquor store.
Accommodation:

guest rooms in the main lodge (each 356 sq ft).
All rooms have private balconies, waterfront
views and fireplaces. Bathrooms are luxuriously
appointed, soaker tubs with sea view and
separate showers. Rooms are available with one
king or twin bedded arrangements.
2 Bedroom Villas are ideal for larger family
groups or friends. Poets Cove has 8 villa’s
(size 1292-1335 sq ft), each has two floors.
Facilities include full kitchens with granite
counter tops, spacious dining and living areas.
Upstairs the two bedrooms are available with
king or two queen beds and en-suite bathrooms.
In addition, guests have the option of booking a
luxury 3 bedroom villa (1700 sq ft) with
all the amenities of the smaller villas or
choosing 2 and 3 bedroom luxury cottages
(845 – 1000 sq ft) All villas and cottages
include patio furniture and gas BBQ’s.
Activities:
Sea kayaking and hiking, scuba diving, sailing
and power boat charters – note most activities
are at additional cost and may be arranged
directly with the concierge.
Dining:
West Coast cuisine is the focus of the Aurora
Restaurant or the casual Syrens Lounge. Top
rated menu features dishes that include local
and Vancouver Island produce – islands known for
their small farms, fine vegetables meats and sea
food. Wine lists include excellent BC wine
selection plus the nearby Pender Island vineyard
– Morning Bay.
Additional Information:
Poets Cove can be combined with other great
lodges of Tofino and Pacific Rim National Park.
Recommend visit to Victoria where several top
hotels are a good match with Poets Cove.
Travelling aboard luxury yacht charter? Bedwell
Harbour is the perfect moorage to use resort
facilities and fine dining. Gulf Islands and
Desolation Sound are key destinations for
private vessels – and Poets Cove should be
included.
