Sonora Resort

Introduction:

This outstanding, all-inclusive resort is positioned on Sonora Island in Desolation Sound - between Vancouver Island and BC's mainland. Pure five-star luxury in a five-star setting, Sonora raises the bar on wilderness quality and comfort. The resort’s architecture reflects the classic Canadian west coast style where individual lodges offer privacy, views and space. The professional and friendly staff take care of everything from start to finish. If you had to choose only one property in Western Canada, Sonora would be high on most people's list.

Location and Getting there:
The Resort is accessible by set daily departures from Vancouver by 12 passenger helicopter or seaplane, or from Campbell River by water taxi. Helicopter and seaplane flights take approximately 47 minutes from Vancouver International Airport's south terminal. Alternatively, you may drive to Campbell River and depart on an afternoon water taxi (approx. 50 minute ride) across picturesque Desolation Sound to Sonora Island. Additionally, daily seaplane service is offered from Seattle with Kenmore Air (customs cleared Vancouver Island).

Amenities:
The experience at Sonora is more like an intimate, luxury cruise liner than a wilderness lodge, allowing guests to chose where to dine and what to enjoy. The award winning chef is a master and the cuisine is complimented by a fine wine cellar with a Canadian focus. Meals and beverages are included. Guests choose where to dine - from a barbecue on the deck to a seven course dinner.

The 11 lodges at Sonora Resort are individually designed and offer a range of privacy, views and space will incorporating local lumber and stone.
