Mountaineer. For
lovers of rail travel this trip is a must -
journeying through the heartland of British
Columbia is a dream route and brings a whole new

interior. Highlights include the Coast
Mountains and ranch lands of the Cariboo region.
Once operated by BC Rail, this much-missed route
to Prince George has been resurrected by Rocky
Mountaineer to feature the real character of the
region.
The two day rail journey opens the door wide

route is a daylight service with an overnight in
Quesnel. Other towns on the route include
Lillooet, 100 Mile House and Williams Lake. From
Prince George the rail route heads east towards
the Rocky Mountains (Mt Robson 3954m tallest
peak in Rockies) and finally over the Alberta
border at Yellowhead Pass to terminate in
Jasper.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Vancouver to Whistler aboard daily
Whistler Mountaineer. Overnight Whistler.
Day 2: Depart Whistler: route follows
Fraser River and Cariboo Plateau. Overnight.
Quesnel.
Day 3: Quesnel to Jasper: en route
highlights include Rocky Mountains.
Includes: Three rail segments: Vancouver
to Jasper aboard Rocky Mountaineer in either Red
Leaf or Gold Leaf class. 3 nights hotel
accommodation: Whistler, Quesnel and Jasper.
