Rocky Mountaineer Whistler
Sea to Sky Climb
Between
Vancouver and Whistler lies the Sea To Sky
Route; an amazing rail journey that combines
fabulous views of Vancouver and Stanley Park
and later carves its way through mountain
canyons, offering teasing glimpses of tall
peaks and icy blue rivers.

The journey packs more scenic variety
than you could imagine – from the waterfront of
West Vancouver and bright ocean views to
towering snow capped peaks. The best part is
your comfortable reserved seat with large
viewing window and choice of meals or snacks
served by attentive staff. The train’s open
viewing car is popular for sightseeing and
photography. Near the town of Squamish, look for
the peak of Mount Garibaldi, rising 2,678 metres
(8787 feet) straight from sea level.
Top
picks from our trips:
One of
the best short rail trips in the world, the
The Rocky Mountaineer Whistler Sea to Sky Climb exceeds all expectations.
Views are sensational – it really is The Sea to
Sky Route where the scenery is always changing
and because it’s a railway it seems more
exciting than the highway. Starting from North
Vancouver the route takes you under Lions Gate
Bridge (good views of Stanley Park) and through
exclusive West Vancouver. Travelling from
Vancouver to Whistler, a hot breakfast is served
at your seat – and in our Glacier Dome Class it
was delicious! On the return southbound journey
Afternoon Tea includes: sandwiches, warm scones
plus strawberries and Devon Cream. This has to
be the best way to travel between Vancouver and
Whistler!
